Since 2019, the in-house Couture Atelier by PRETTIE LANES offers luxury, one-of-a-kind Red Carpet & Evening gowns. Ethically tailored to your measurements in Switzerland, your gown will be custom designed and manufactured using finest vintage couture sewing and construction techniques - just like it was done back in the 1940s & 1950s.

 

 

LUXURY

 

A gown no-one else in the world owns - a luxury that was designed especially for you and that is promised to never be replicated. Each design comes with a certificate of authenticity and a professional garment bag for storage and protection. Maintaining discretion at all levels, custom designs are not marketed publicly in full view unless confirmed by the client - all eyes on YOU and your unique look!

 

 

DESIGN

 

Your custom designed gown will feature everything you love about true midcentury couture. A built-in corset, a matching handmade crinoline or petticoat, all those little details such as metal zippers, hooks and eyes, waist and bra stays and an outstanding amount of hand-stitching may only serve as a few examples of luxury components that make up your very own couture gown.

 

A well work ethic is of highest value at PRETTIE LANES and that is why true vintage designer’s couture creations will not be replicated at any time. Generating reputation as an artist by copying the work of other designers (dead or alive) is never an option. Vintage couture gowns in its nature of being pieces of art may serve as a wonderful and legit inspiration for your very own, individual gown, yet never as a blueprint. In line with this principle, PRETTIE LANES keeps your own commissioned design exclusive and unreplicated. 

 

 

PRICE

 

Prices are calculated individually depending on the design, manufacturing time & materials used and on average start at around 2300,-CHF. Once we have discussed your dream gown and agreed upon all details,  the official commission contract alongside your invoice will be sent to you (deposit to secure your place in the manufacturing line). Payments are arranged individually (various payment plans available).

Once sold out - a design will never be available again in the exact same style & material to maintain specialty, exclusivity and add additional value to every single piece. Environmentally conscious, the day wear line is designed & handmade to order from era accurate, plastic free, bio degradable fabrics and durable materials in PRETTIE LANES' atelier in Zurich, Switzerland. The in-house pattern creation and size customization options will make it easy for you to order your individual size without(!) the nowadays commonly used plastic based stretch fibers necessary to ‚fit in‘. Ethically manufactured, slow fashion without any surplus produced.
